Dierks overpowers Horatio

DIERKS, Ark. - Chandler Lowery rushed for three touchdowns to help lift Dierks to a 44-0 win over Horatio in both teams' season opener Friday at Ayers Field.

Konnor Shelton paced the ground attack for the Outalws with 10 carries for 133 yards and a score, and Braxton Claborn added a 12-yard TD. Austin Hanson also had a touchdown, covering 9 yards.

Horatio's Lane Moya carried the ball 20 times for 60 yards to lead his team.

 

Fouke 41, Gurdon 34

FOUKE, Ark. - Fouke quarterback Hunter Lansdell passed for 296 and four touchdowns and ran for two more to ignite Fouke to the win over the visiting Go-Devils.

Kanan Garrett caught all four touchdowns and finished with 10 receptions for 196 yards for the Panthers (1-0). The touchdowns covered 4, 65, 61 and 16 yards, with the game-winning touchdown coming with 7:42 remaining in the game. That score gave Fouke the victory over Gurdon (1-1).

Lansdell also rushed 11 times for 69 yards and scored twice on runs of 1 and 5 yards to spark the Panther offensive assault.

Gurdon jumped out to a 14-0 lead at the first break, but the Panthers fought back with 28 second-quarter points. The Go-Devils had 20 second-period points and took a 34-28 lead into halftime.

Fouke shut out Gurdon, 13-0, in the second half.
