Hawks dominate with four All-District superlatives

Pleasant Grove and Gilmer each racked up four, All-District 8-4A superlative football selections. Liberty-Eylau had one superlative.

Nick Martin was Co-Most Valuable Player for the Hawks, Landon Jackson was chosen Defensive MVP, Alex Murphy was Offensive Lineman of the Year and Cameron Weekly was the Defensive Lineman of the Year.

Nate Gamble was named Defensive Newcomer of the Year for the Leopards.

Brandon Tennison from Gilmer was Co-District Most Valuable Player, Dylan Fluellen was chosen Offensive MVP, Rohan Fluellen was the Offensive Newcomer of the Year and Gilmer was the Coaching Staff of the Year.

First teamers from Pleasant Grove included tight end Victor Shaw, offensive lineman Torey Phillips, offensive lineman Jaxson Cartright, utility player Hayden Koller, defensive lineman Tamier Turner, outside linebacker Reese Elrod and special teams player Corban Franklin.

Liberty-Eylau's first-team selections were running back Damian Henderson, wide receiver Chris Lewis, wide receiver Semaj Rose, utility player Takylan Hampton, defensive lineman Darrion Crabtree, defensive back Tracy Revels and special teams player Steven Turner.

Running back Davion Smith (Gilmer) along with wide receivers Mason Hurt (Gilmer), Ricky Duffey (Pittsburg) and Tyrese Jones (Spring Hill) were named to the first team.

Offensive lineman on the first team were Jarot Ritter (Gilmer), Trace Reynolds (Pittsburg), Aaron Collier (Spring Hill) and Brandon Krenek (Spring Hill).

KickersJose DeLacruz of Spring Hill and Jose Hernandez of Gilmer were named to the first team, along with punter Cody Guidry of Gilmer.

Rounding out first-team utility players were Guidry of Gilmer, Blake Hildreth from North Lamar, KJ Williams of Pittsburg and Brody Barnhill from Spring Hill.

Other first-team defensive linemen were Terrell Williams (Pittsburg), Cameron Webb (Spring Hill), Matt Burton (Gilmer) and Derek Borda (Gilmer).

Outside linebacker Luke Watson of Gilmer, inside linebacker Jett Jones of Gilmer and inside linebacker Christian Bates of Pittsburg made the first team.

Defensive backs Curtis Crowe of Spring Hill, Davion Smith from Gilmer and Jaydon Griffin from Gilmer were honored on the first team.

Rounding out the first team were special teams players Jose Hernandez (Gilmer), Austin Stutsman (North Lamar), Giovanny Rojas (Pittsburg) and Cameron Webb (Spring Hill).

Quarterback Jalen Woodside was named to the second team for Pleasant Grove along with running backs Logan Johnson and Jaylen Boardley.

Wide receiver Sam Bradshaw, offensive lineman Chase McClure, defensive lineman Phillips, inside linebacker Gage Stivers and defensive back Johnson all made the second team for the Hawks.

Second-team selections from Liberty-Eylau were tight end Shawn White, offensive lineman Oren Gaar, punter Ian Jones, defensive lineman Maliek Riley, outside linebacker Mike Riley, inside linebacker White and defensive back Chris Lewis.
