McLeod boys earn district crown

SIMMS, Texas - McLeod's junior high squad won its second consecutive district championship with a 30-17 win over James Bowie Thursday night.

Kannon Dempsey led the Longhorns with 13 points and 15 rebounds, while teammate Parker Patrick added 12 points with 15 rebounds.

 

Hawks win pair against Leopards

TEXARKANA, Texas - Tamarcus Gray lit up the scoreboard with 18 points, but Liberty-Eylau's eighth grade A team fell to Pleasant Grove, 63-53.

Keonte Brewer scored 14 points for the Leopards.

Cameron Hadaway paced Liberty Eylau with 10 points, but the Hawks won the eighth grade B game, 29-23.

 

Red Lick tops Redwater

REDWATER, Texas - Red Lick beat Redwater in the eighth grade girls game, 27-10.

Zoe Vanderhoof led the Lady Mustangs with a game-high 13 points.

Landy Canto and Karie Latham each scored four points apiece for the Lady Dragons.

The Mustangs defeated the Dragons in the seventh grade game, 32-23.

Kyndle Clark led the Dragons with nine points and teammate Emma Campbell added eight points.

Addisyn Gildon led the Mustangs with 14 points and teammate AnnaBeth Black added 13 points.

 

Hooks, Queen City split

HOOKS, Texas - Hooks defeated Queen City in the eighth grade boys game, 50-12.

Keyshawn Walls led Hooks with 15 points and teammate Carveion Johnson poured in 13 points.

Queen City beat the Hornets in the seventh grade game, 30-14.

Hudson Davis led Hooks with six points.

Queen City edged the Hornets in the B game, 17-12.

Jalyn Jackson led Hooks with six points.

 

L-K edges Maud

MAUD, Texas - Linden-Kildare beat Maud in the junior high girls game, 33-32.

Bayla White led the Lady Cardinals with 13 points and teammate Samantha Barnette added 12 points.

 

Lady Bulldogs take 2 over Hooks

QUEEN CITY, Texas - Lauren Carrell lit up the nets for 15 points to lead Queen City's eighth grade A team over Hooks, 46-29.

Mallori Stringer and Serenity Oden each added 11 for the Lady Bulldogs.

Kinsley Birdwell had a game-high 18 points for the Lady Hornets, while Morgan Creer contributed nine.

LaTerika Jackson poured in 17 points as Queen City won the seventh grade A contest, 29-15.

Kaitlyn Hailey paced Hooks with seven points.

 

Atlanta, New Boston split

NEW BOSTON, Texas - Conner Bobbitt set the nets ablaze with 15 points as New Boston won the eighth grade game over Atlanta, 41-29.

Xavier Rowden scored nine points for the Lions.

Korben Barber led New Boston with eight points, but the Rabbs won the seventh grade contest, 49-16.

Atlanta won the B game, 19-13.

 

Red Lick wins 2 of 3

RED LICK, Texas - Caleb Hackleman kept the scorekeeper busy with 22 points, and Red Lick defeated Redwater in the eighth grade A game, 53-40.

Trent Walker fired in 14 points for the Mustangs.

Tyris Crowell put up 15 points for the Dragons in a 51-34 victory over Red Lick in the seventh grade A contest. Serlio Creer scored 13 points for Redwater, while Gavin Carrell added nine.

Tanner James had a game-high 24 points for the Mustangs.

Dakota Buckley's four points contributed to Red Lick's 11-9 win in the seventh grade B game. William Howell had a game-high five points for Redwater.
