TEXARKANA - The threat of heavy rain and storms forced postponement of several local sport competitions Friday.
Arkansas High's home basketball games against Benton were postponed until today. The Lady Backs will play their varsity game at 1 p.m., and the Razorbacks and Panthers meet in a boys game after the completion of the girls game.
Pleasant Grove was set to host North Lamar, but the District 15-4A opener was moved to today. The junior varsity game is set for 3 p.m., and the varsity will play after the JV game is completed.
Likewise, Liberty-Eylau's District 15-4A opener at Pittsburg was changed until today with the junior varsity girls playing at 3 before the varsity game starts.
Texas High's girls open up District 15-5A with a road game at Greenville. Postponed until today, the teams will play a varsity-only game at noon.
Pleasant Grove's boys had a road game at Carthage Friday, but that contest was canceled. There were no plans to reschedule the game
