LINDALE, Texas - Ashanti Northcross set the nets ablaze with 20 points as Texas High defeated Lindale, 69-51, in a District 15-5A varsity girls basketball game on Tuesday.
Jacia Collins scored 12 points, while Kerrighan Dunn added 11 for the Lady Tigers.
Texas High is 2-2 in district and hosts Sulphur Springs at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
Arkansas High 60, El Dorado 54
EL DORADO, Ark. - Fortunate Barry ripped the cords for 14 points, but Arkansas High fell to El Dorado, 60-54.
Z'niah Nelson contributed 13 points for the Lady Backs.
Millie Henderson scored six points to lead Arkansas High's junior varsity to a 20-16 victory over the Lady Cats.
The Lady Backs host Lakeside at 6 p.m. on Friday.
Waskom 46, Hughes Springs 23
WASKOM, Texas - Adriana Kennedy fired in nine points for Hughes Springs, but Waskom earned the win in a District 15-3A girls varsity matchup.
Briana Young chipped in eight points for the Lady Mustangs.
Warrior teams fall
TEXARKANA, Ark. - Hannah Leeper poured in 15 points to go with seven rebounds, but Mineral Springs defeated Trinity Christian, 38-24, in a senior girls contest.
Samantha Chandler had four points, six boards and five blocks for the Lady Warriors.
Zack Franklin had a double-double with 25 points and 12 rebounds, but Trinity Christian fell to the Hornets on a buzzer beater, 62-59.
Griffin Brocato had 12 points and six boards for the Warriors.
Zach Graf's double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds led Trinity Christian to a 64-44 victory in the boys junior high game.
Marley Franklin put up 21 points to go with six boards for the Warriors.
