Lady Hornets sneak past Queen City

HOOKS, Texas - Lindra Burchette lit up the nets for a game-high 18 points as Hooks defeated Queen City, 51-47, in a District 14-3A varsity girls basketball game on Tuesday.

Alley Jefferson poured in 17 points for the Lady Hornets.

Hannah Fitts paced the Lady Bulldogs with 14 points, while teammate Gracie Weeks added 13.

 

Paul Pewitt 71, Redwater 41

OMAHA-NAPLES, Texas - Paul Pewitt buried six 3-pointers in the first quarter and built a 42-17 lead at halftime en route to a District 14-3A win.

Sissy Jones led the Lady Brahmas (19-7, 6-1) with 18 points. Mya Heath added 13 points, and Calli Osmon had 12 for Paul Pewitt.

Reagan Markham led the Lady Dragons (1-6 district) with 20 points, and Haley Latham contributed 15 points.

 

McLeod 59, Linden-Kildare 9

MCLEOD, Texas - Gracie Lance shot in a game-high 14 points and pulled down eight boards as McLeod dismantled Linden-Kildare in a District 15-2A contest.

Sibbie Comer added 12 points for the Lady Longhorns.

LaSonya Nard paced the Lady Tigers with five points.

Boys

McLeod 72, Linden-Kildare 47

MCLEOD, Texas - Keldyn Schubert ripped the cords for 27 points to help McLeod's boys improve to 24-2 and 5-0 in District 15-2A play with a convincing win over Linden-Kildare.

Trevor Deel chipped in with 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Longhorns, Schubert also had 13 assists, and Casey Smith scored 14 points as McLeod converted 20 of 28 free throws.

Davian Tyson led the Tigers with 14 points, and LaDavian Johnson added 10 points.

McLeod won the junior varsity game, 53-42, behind Gabe Graves' 25 points.
