TEXARKANA, Texas — Pleasant Grove's Marcus Burris narrowed down his list of potential colleges to further his academic career to three Wednesday in an announcement on Twitter.

According to photo Burris and Pleasant Grove Athletics posted on social media, the four-star defensive end's "Top 3" is Texas, Oklahoma and Texas A&M.

"I wanna thank God for putting me in the position i am in," Burris said on Twitter. "I also wanna thank my family and coaching staff for sticking with me. Last but not least I wanna thank all the universities that gave me an opportunity and believed in me. One step closer.

Burris was named Defensive MVP during last year's Class 4A, Division II state championship game against Wimberley, where the Hawks won, 35-21 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. He had two sacks that came at integral points in the game and had a pass breakup.
