Junior Hogs split with El Dorado in doubleheader

EL DORADO, Ark. - The Texarkana Junior Razorbacks split a doubleheader with El Dorado on Wednesday.

The Junior Razorbacks (6-5-1) dropped the first game of the twin bill, 4-3, and survived a four-run seventh inning in the second game to win, 9-4.

 

GAME 1

El Dorado 4, Texarkana 3

El Dorado did just enough Wednesday to edge out the Texarkana Junior Razorbacks.

Texarkana collected seven hits but couldn't overcome El Dorado's early offense in the 4-3 loss.

Jackson Shipp led the Junior Razorbacks with three hits, including a double and an RBI, while teammate Blaine Farmington finished with two hits.

Tanner Edwards pitched three innings for Texarkana, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out one. Caleb Tullos had a team-high three strikeouts in relief.

 

GAME 2

Texarkana 9, El Dorado 4

The Texarkana Junior Razorbacks fended off El Dorado's late rally to come away with a 9-4 victory in the nightcap of their doubleheader on Wednesday.

Shaw Storey had five strikeouts in three innings, allowing no runs on just two hits, to go along with his win on the mound. Nate Brower and Kyle Dinkins came out of the bullpen to help close the game in relief.

Jackson Shipp finished with a team-high two hits, including a double. Nate Moore and Colby Brooks both had a triple in the win and Shane Sutton recorded a double.
