FOUKE, Ark. - Fouke senior pitcher Kacey Solida signed a national letter of intent to continue her education and playing career with National Park College recently.

Solida has been a three-year starter for the Lady Panthers.

"Kacey is one of the most awesome kids I've ever been around," Fouke head coach Cody Powell said. "She loves the game of softball. She wants the ball in her hand; if she can pitch, she's going to pitch.

"Kacey is the type of kid you want on your side when it's time to really battle. She isn't intimidated by anybody and has pitched in every big game we've played over the last three seasons."

Solida played in the sophomore-junior all-star game following her sophomore season (2019). She was also an all-state tournament team selection as a sophomore and has been a two-time all-conference pitcher.

"She averages between seven and eight strikeouts a game," Powell said. "She has held some really good teams to a run or two. She hasn't thrown a no-hitter, but she has been very close several times.

"Kacey has really grown up in her leadership role. As a sophomore, she really tried to make the team her own. That expanded even more last season before the season was cut short. She's done a really good job of bringing along our younger players."

Solida is the daughter of Jackie and Amanda Solida.
