Lady Tigers split with Marshall

MARSHALL, Texas - Carlyn Clack served in 12 points to lead Texas Middle School's eighth grade A team to a 25-19, 25-20 win over Marshall in a volleyball match on Thursday.

The Lady Tigers lost the eighth grade B match, 25-12, 25-9.

Taryne Stiger had 16 service points, and TMS won the seventh grade A match, 25-12, 25-19.

Dasia Neal had six service points for the Tigers, but Marshall won the seventh grade B match, 25-18, 25-21.

 

Lady Leopards' JH sweeps Pitt

TEXARKANA, Texas - Tamera James served in 14 points as Liberty-Eylau's eighth grade swept Pittsburg, 25-22, 25-12.

Peyton Shavers had nine service points, and Autumn Berry added eight points on serve to lead the Lady Leopards' seventh grade to a 25-6, 25-21 victory.

 

Lady Hawks post 3 wins

against Gilmer

GILMER, Texas - Abigail Boehmke and Abby Runion each had 10 service points to lead Pleasant Grove's eighth grade A team to a 25-10, 25-15 win over Gilmer.

Ava Harvey had six service points in a 25-22, 13-12 victory for the Lady Hawks' eighth grade B team.

Maggie Prejean's 18 points on serve led PG's seventh grade A team to a 25-22, 25-10 win.

Carley Rhodes slapped in nine service points and the Hawks split with Gilmer in the seventh grade B contest, 25-13, 15-25. PG won the first set.

Leopards emerge victorious

in season opener

TEXARKANA, Texas - Greg London found the end zone from 14 yards out to help push Liberty-Eylau's freshmen to an 8-6 win over Carthage.

Caleb Parks ran in the 2-point conversion for the Leopards. Coaches named London and Kourtland Jordan as offensive standouts. Offensive line recognition went to Juan Vargas and Shamar Pickett.

The coaches recognized Jathan Malone and Kaden Allen as defensive standouts. Defensive line recognition went to Rashad Ganter and Anthony Brown

 

Pirates edged out by Overton

SIMMS, Texas - Colton Franks scored two touchdowns, but Overton sneaked past James Bowie, 18-16, in a junior high football game.

Franks scored on a 5-yard and a 3-yard run. He also had two, 2-point conversions for the Pirates.

Tigers' junior varsity rolls to win

TEXARKANA, Texas - Texas High's jayvee tennis team opened the fall season with a 20-0 throttling of Pine Tree.

Boys doubles winners were Carter Shuffield and Adam McCarter, John Tullis and Ethan Minor, and Zaine Suelzer and Eason Platt.

Girls doubles winners included Bella Fuquay and Reagan Raney along with the team of Macy Maynard and Shelby Tubb.

Boys singles victors were Shuffield, McCarter, Tullis, Minor, Platt and Suelzer. Girls singles winners were Katey Pappas, Caroline Cook, Jenna Humphrey, Darbi Davis, Carly Hickerson and Ayden Daniel.

Texas High's junior varsity

girls take fourth

HALLSVILLE, Texas - Texas High's varsity girls placed fourth with 97 points at a cross country race.

Nealy Anderson was the top finisher for the Lady Tigers with a ninth-place performance, while teammates Sadie Mitchell (17th) and Emily Kraft (19th) finished in the top 20.

Armando Hernandez was the top finished for the Tigers (62nd) in the contest. Texas High's jayvee boys finished in sixth place with 132 points.
