Three high school games involving local and area schools were called off prior to Friday's kickoff as a result of positive COVID-19 tests.

Arkansas High's season opener at Pine Bluff Dollarway was called off late Thursday after a Dollarway assistant coach had a positive test.

Prior to those, Mineral Springs called off its game at Fouke, and New Boston's and Hooks' game at Hornet Stadium was canceled.

There were no plans to reschedule any of the games.

The AHS-Dollarway game was the 15th prep game in the state canceled over the first three weeks of the season due to COVID-19.
