Pirates post shutout against Eagles, 10-0

SIMMS, Texas - James Bowie starting pitcher Zane DeBerry earned the win, allowed two hits over four innings, struck out nine and walked one in a 10-0 shutout win over Detroit on Tuesday in a District 17-2A baseball game.

DeBerry slugged a home run in the third inning for the Pirates.

James Bowie put up six runs in the fifth with singles by Logan McCullough, Lane Johnson, and Gunner Robinson, a walk by Garrett Brown, by Rogers, and an error on a ball put in play by Brandon Obenoskey.

McCullough, Johnson, Rogers and Robinson each had an RBI in the fifth frame.

Rogers smacked a 1-run double in the first frame for the Pirates' first score of the game.

Brayden Greer took the loss for Detroit, allowed five runs on three hits over four innings and struck out two.
