With Wednesday's blanket of snow - the second snow storm to hit the area this week - all UIL playoff basketball games scheduled for today were postponed.

A couple of games were still scheduled for Friday. However, the UIL issued a statement that there was no hard deadline, at this time, on completing the girls area round nor the boys bi-district round, meaning if inclement weather and road conditions continue to compromise the safety of the schools, games could be pushed back until next week.

Friday's scheduled games included Hooks' boys against Mineola in a Class 3A bi-district game at Marshall High School and Linden-Kildare's boys against Como-Pickton at Pittsburg High School. Both contests had 7 p.m. tipoffs.

For Saturday's games, Liberty-Eylau's girls are scheduled to play Brownsboro at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Hallsville in the Class 4A area round.

DeKalb's girls square off against Sabine in a 3A area game, but no details were set as of Wednesday, and McLeod was set to play Alvord at 2 p.m. in a 2A area girls game at Campbell High School.

Saturday's boys bi-district games for Class 4A include Pleasant Grove facing Kilgore at 3 p.m. at Marshall High School.

Liberty-Eylau rescheduled its 4A game against Tyler Chapel Hill until Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. at Maverick Gym.

In Class 3A, Atlanta and Winnsboro are scheduled to play at Mount Pleasant's Willie Williams Gym on Saturday but no time had been set Wednesday. New Boston and Mount Vernon play at 2 p.m. at Pittsburg High School, and DeKalb and Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill meet at 2 p.m. at Prairiland High School.

Saturday's 2A bi-district games include McLeod playing Quinlan Boles at 6 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill High School, and Maud against North Hopkins at 8 p.m. in the same gym.
