New Boston, Atlanta each earn two superlatives on 14-3A team

TEXARKANA, Texas - New Boston and Atlanta each had two superlatives named to the 14-3A All-District baseball team.

Brian Reid was chosen Player of the Year and teammate Kyle Atkinson was the Co-Offensive MVP for New Boston. Atlanta's Cooper McClure was the Defensive MVP, while David Hooten was named Coach of the Year.

Redwater's Preston Davis was Co-Offensive MVP, DeKalb's Travis Daniel earned Pitcher of the Year, and Hooks' Kameron Choate was the Newcomer of the Year.

First-team pitchers included Hayden Green of Paul Pewitt, Ty Thomerson of Hooks, Kelby Smith of Atlanta and Randall Mason of Atlanta. Tanor Mines of Paul Pewitt was chosen first-team catcher.

First teamers for the infield were Skeet Roberts of Redwater (first baseman), Connor Bobbit of New Boston (second baseman), Kaden Bowen of Redwater (third baseman) and Landon Yeatman of New Boston (shortstop).

Logan Oas (Queen City), Nick Burden (Atlanta), Caden Glass (New Boston) and Kade Clinton (Redwater) were the first-team outfielders. Rounding out the the first team at designated hitter, Lathan Morgan (Redwater), and utility player Jackson Warren of Atlanta.

Second-team first basemen were Rhys Kelley (Paul Pewitt) and Decarrius Coates (New Boston). Riley Drew of Redwater and Carter Harris of Hooks were chosen second basemen.

Dayton Granberry (Paul Pewitt), Lane McMillan (Hooks) and Tristan Mayfield (Queen City) each represented his school at third base.

Shortstops making the second team were Eric Morris of Paul Pewitt and AJ Burgin of DeKalb. Joining them at catcher were Logan Davis (Hooks), Ty Graf (Atlanta) and Will Henson (New Boston).

Second-team pitchers were Clint Wiley of Queen City, Malcolm Brown of Redwater, Dalton Vissering of Paul Pewitt and Matthew Hays of Hooks.

Adam Whitlock (Hooks), Kale Carpenter (Atlanta), Carson Bowman (Redwater) and Noah Mayo (Paul Pewitt) were chosen second-team outfielders.

Rounding out the second team was designated hitter Trentyn Morris-Hill of New Boston, and utility players Dex Ebarb (Atlanta), Michkye Perry (Paul Pewitt) and Gage Campbell (Hooks).
