Redwater falls, 5-2, to Harmony in Game 1

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas - It took a a little while before the bats got going, but once they did, it was excitement for all of the spectators at the ballpark Friday night.

Redwater (9-12) fell to Harmony in the first game of their Class 3A bi-district playoff series at Lady Mustang Field Hughes Springs campus, 5-2.

Analese Cano drove in Kinzee Settles for Harmony, scoring the game's first run in the bottom of the first inning. Cano finished 3 for 4 at the plate with a double, RBI and scored two runs for Harmony.

Jenny Seahorn slapped a single off the wall, driving in Cano for the Lady Eagles, adding to their edge over Redwater, 2-0.

Brooke Ursey hit a two-run home run with two outs for the Lady Dragons, tying the contest in the top of the third, 2-2. Ursey finished the game going 3 for 3 with a homer and 2 RBI.

Seahorn singled between the shortstop and left fielder for Harmony in the bottom of the third inning, driving in Cano for the Eagles and increasing their lead to 3-2.

Delaynie Nash and Cano, each smacked an RBI for the Eagles in the fourth inning, boosting their lead to 5-2. Nash went 1 for 3 with an RBI for the Eagles.

The second game in the best-of-three series will be played about 2 p.m. today, at Lady Mustangs Field. The final game of the series, if necessary, will be played immediately following Game 2.
