Rabbs fall to Eagles, 4-2

TATUM, Texas - The Class 3A regional quarterfinal series opener between Atlanta and Harmony started as a rubber match between both of the starting pitchers.

The Rabbs (20-8) fell to the Eagles (24-6) Thursday night at Eagles Nest Park, 4-2.

It took three innings before either squad was able to obtain a hit.

Atlanta pinch runner Kameron Dickerson scored for the Rabbs from second base on a Harmony fielding error in right field with two outs.

Jackson Warren started on the bump for the Rabbs. Warren tossed a complete game, gave up eight hits and four runs. Warren also finished 2 for 3 at the dish for the Rabbs.

Evan Patterson tied the game for the Eagles in the bottom of the fifth inning, driving in Will Young on his line-drive single to right field for Harmony.

Patterson finished the game 2 for 4 with a RBI at the plate for the Eagles.

Boston Seahorn gave Harmony their first lead of the night in the bottom of the fifth on his infield single, driving in Tucker Tittle from second.

Seahorn finished the night 1 for 1 with a RBI at the plate.

Warren stole two bases after slapping a single through the infield, setting himself up in scoring position before scoring on a wild pitch in the top of the sixth for Atlanta, tying the game, 2-2.

Cooper Wadding regained the lead for Harmony, scoring from third on a bases loaded walk in he bottom of the sixth inning, giving the Eagles a 1-run edge, 3-2.

Tittle drove in Colin Morris for Harmony, adding to the Eagles total in the sixth inning, 4-2.

Game 2 is today at Eagles Nest Park, with the first pitch at 2 p.m.
