WHITEHOUSE, Texas - After more than a hour passed due to a rain delay, the Class 4A Region II regional quarterfinal series opener between Liberty-Eylau and Bullard finally got underway.
The Leopards fell to the Panthers at Wildcat Field on the campus of Whitehouse High School, after multiple weather delays, 11-1.
Game 1
It was a pitching duel between both teams until the third inning.
Bullard scored four runs in the third inning and the Leopards were unable to respond
Gage Wakefield and Ryley Sharp added a RBI apiece, while teammate Connor Carson added 2 RBI in the inning.
The Leopards answered back in the top of the fifth inning, after Colby Brooks drove in Hunter Burks for L-E's first run of the game, slicing into the Panther's edge, 4-1.
Carson hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning, adding to the Panthers' cushion, 6-1.
Between the fifth and sixth innings, there was a 1.5 hour weather delay.
Bullard was able to scatter five more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 11-1 lead over the Leopards, winning the game in six innings.
