HALLSVILLE, Texas -Texas High and Redwater competed in the Hallsville Cross Country meet this weekend on the Bobcats home course.
The Tigers' Evan Likins placed 41st in the Varsity Boys 3.1-mile event. Texas High placed eighth in varsity boys with 226 points.
Other Texas High individuals were:
Evan Likins, 41st (19:23); Gabriel Raley 51st (19:53); Armando Hernandez 60th (20:17) and Gavin Mitchell 61st (26:15).
In JV boys, Texas High was 12th with 297 points. Luke Spakes finished 50th (25:23).
In varsity girls, THS' Kemora Howard was 15th (15:58), Kayleigh Cooper 55th (17:48) and Catherine Loomis 56th (17:49).
In the Boys Middle School 2-mile event, THS top runners were:
Devan Aubrey, Eli Likins, Jeb White, Chapman White and Max Likins.
Redwater's top varsity girls were:
Landry Canto 38th (15:15); Gracie McCoy 86th (16:42).
A total of 154 runners competed in the varsity boys: The Dragons top runners were:
Kilin Kennedy 37th (20:26) and Cameron Wallace 91st (22:04).
In Middle School girls, Redwater runners were:
Faith Latham 34th (16:44); and Murphie Rossum 54th (17:35).
The Dragons' top finishers in Middle School boys was Wesley Youngman 74th (15:31).

Pewitt loses home game
NAPLES-OMAHA, Texas - Mount Vernon, which reached the Class 3A state semifinals last year, still have some clout left over as the Tigers posted a 42-16 victory over Paul Pewitt Friday night.
The Tigers, who finished 12-3 last season, improve to 3-0 while the Brahmas tumble to 1-2.
Quarterback Hayden Green rushed for a team-high 88 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also completed 7-of-11 passes for 100 yards, with A'myree Johnson catching four for 62 yards.
Defensive standouts for Pewitt were Eric Morris with five tackles and a forced fumble, Isaac Hodges had five stops an d a sack, and Joey Green, Jack Morris and Tyrone Cobbins had four tackles each. Noah Mayo also had a sack.
Paul Pewitt will host another tough foe in Celina on Friday.
