Undefeated THS remains in 1st place

TEXARKANA, Texas - Texas High remained undefeated and moved into sole possession of first place in District 15-5A volleyball action with a straight-set victory over previously unbeaten Hallsville Friday in the Tiger Center.

The Lady Tigers (3-0) won, 25-15, 25-20, 25-20 over the Lady Bobcats (2-1).

Texas High had several standouts, including Jaycee Kennedy (14 kills and seven blocks), Valeria Perez (15 digs and 10 points), Bella Cherry 15 assists, 15 points and 14 kills).

Mally Lumpkin also served 20 points and had 11 digs ad Kailyn Williams had 17 assists.

Hallsville won the junior varsity match, 25-20, 25-17. Bellah Chattaway had nine points for THS.

The Bobcats also won the freshmen contest, 25-16, 25-7. Abbigale Roswell led the Tigers with five points.

Lady Bulldogs get win

QUEEN CITY, Texas - The host Lady Bulldogs defeated New Boston for their first District 14-3A victory of the season, 25-15, 25-21, 25-22, Friday.

Queen City (1-1) was led by Lauren Carrell with six kills and five ace, Chyna Stiger had five kills, seven points (three aces); Nyla Harrison nine points and three aces, and Trinity Oden eight points (four aces).

The Lady Lions (1-1) were paced by Karli Strain with nine service points, and Hannah Crooks added six points.

Queen City's next match is Tuesday at DeKalb. New Boston plays at Atlanta.
