TEXARKANA, Texas — The veteran team showed that there is no substitute for experience.
Pleasant Grove's experience paid off as the Lady Hawks crushed a young Mount Vernon team, 25-12, 25-13, 25-6, in a varsity volleyball match at Hawk Gym on Tuesday.
"I thought the girls made some of the tougher plays look easy and made good plays throughout the game," Pleasant Grove head coach Amy Collvins said.
"We had good intensity throughout the game and did good making something out of nothing. We make sure to stay aggressive and make smart plays."
Adi Koller served in five points in the first set as Pleasant Grove ballooned an 11-5 lead into a 16-5 cushion.
Harleigh O'Neal sent a booming kill down the back baseline to seal the first set for the Lady Hawks.
