HALLSVILLE, Texas — Texas High fared well against several schools it will face in Monday's District 15-5A meet at Pine Tree.

The Lady Tigers placed second and the Tigers were third in the Tommy Miller Relays hosted by Hallsville High School on Thursday.

Longview won both titles, with the Lady Lobos scoring 179.5 in the girls while Texas High had 139.

The Lobos won the boys crown with 159 points, followed by Pine Tree (124) and Texas High (101).

Texas High won three individual events in both divisions. In the girls, Ashlyn Stiger won the triple jump (35-4 1/2), Bobbi Hatchett the 100 hurdles (16.378) and Cashlin Gooden the 300 hurdles (49.075).

In the boys, first places went to the Tigers Tim Austin in the high jump (5-8), Evan Likins in the 800 meters (2:05.513) and Caden Miller in the 110 hurdles (15.884).

Texas High had four runner-up finishes in the girls, including Mariza Paez in the shot (32-11 1/2), Mollie Johnson in the discus (93-2), Fezeka Barnes in the 800 meters (2:32.062) and the 4x400 relay (4:17.021).

Christon Surratt was second in the discus (118-5), Tre Roberts was second in the triple jump (42-8) and the Tigers' 4x200 relay was runner-up (1:32.635). Texas High also turned in a third-place finish in the 4x100 relay in 44.049.
