Texarkana native Tra Carson was promoted to the Green Bay Packers' 53-man roster from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Carson, who is a former standout from Liberty-Eylau and Texas A&M, finished with 14 yards on six totes and caught four passes for 18 yards to help Green Bay to a 34-24 victory.

Carson finished the preseason with 81 yards and a touchdown on 29 attempts.

The Packers' next game will be Monday at Lambeau against the visiting Detroit Lions.
