TEXARKANA, Ark. - Arkansas High senior Cody Adcock looked forward to his senior year with the Razorbacks on the diamond but due to suspensions, Adcock is looking forward to the next chapter in his life as a Ole Miss Rebel.

"I really wish we could've finished the season at Arkansas High," Adcock said. "I'm ready for the next chapter. I'm a little disappointed for the guys who aren't able to go to the next level and the season had to end the way that it did. For me, it's a total blessing and I'm ready for it."

Adcock finished his prep career with a 1.57 ERA, 109 strikeouts in 84 2-3 innings worth of work.

Adcock also chose the Rebs over a host of other SEC suitors during the recruiting process.

"I can't wait to get to Oxford," Adcock said. "I love the coaches, and I've grown a great bond with the players. I really hope I can come in my freshman year and be a guy they can rely on. I plan to work hard and show them what I got. The coaches are went really drew me to the Ole Miss program. I loved my visit and the connection I was able to make with the coaching staff. The have the right culture in place and the program is headed in the right direction.

"I'm going to really miss my mom's cooking. I think I'm at a point in my life where I can handle things on my own. I'm 5 1-2 hours away, so hopefully my mom will be able to make some meals and bring them to me when I get there."

Adcock is also finding unique ways to stay in-shape before it's time for him to report to Mississippi.

"I've been throwing as much as I possibly can," Adcock said. "I've had some good throwing sessions with my brother Dylan and Ty Waid. The gym that I go to closed, so I've been trying to get all the work in I can. We make sure our hands are clean and we're practicing social distancing.

"I'm trying to play in a summer league in Fayetteville before I plan to report," Adcock said. "That's the plan as of now, but if that gets canceled, I think my family and I will figure out a backup plan."
