Junior Razorbacks sweep doubleheader over Longview on Tuesday night

TEXARKANA, Ark. - The Texarkana Junior Razorbacks scored 24 runs in two games to sweep Longview in their twin bill on Tuesday night.

Texarkana (10-9-1) found its groove when its bats got hot in the first game to win, 15-7, and outlasted Longview in a pitchers' duel in the nightcap, 9-8.

GAME 1

Texarkana 15, Longview 7

The Junior Razorbacks got a lift in the bottom of the fourth inning when Nate Moore hit into a fielder's choice to break a 3-all tie and the home team scored eight more runs in the frame and five more in the sixth to cruise to the victory.

Texarkana began the inning after a stole base and a Colby Brooks single. A couple of errors would help score two runs before Nate Brower drew a walk, scoring one run, and Moore driving in two with a single.

Longview answered back in the fifth inning with four runs but was held scoreless the rest of the way.

Moore started on the mound for the Junior Razorbacks, allowing six hits and two runs and striking out three in three innings.

Texarkana had 15 hits in the win, with Moore, Dalton Raley, Skeet Roberts and Brooks each collecting multiple hits - Roberts finishing game-highs in hits with five and five of the team's 16 stolen bases.

Longview tallied 11 hits.
