Texarkana finishes Sunday play with win over Harrison

FORT SMITH, Ark. - After a three-game stretch that consisted of two losses and a tie, the Texarkana Junior Razorbacks ended Sunday with a mark in the win column.

Texarkana (5-4-1) came out strong with an RBI-single by Shane Sutton in the first and scored four more in the first three innings en route to a 6-1 victory over Harrison during round-robin play in Fort Smith.

Harrison was held scoreless until the fourth.

The Junior Razorbacks finished with 10 hits, with Sutton and Nate Moore collecting two each to lead the team. Trey Malone's gem earned him the win on the mound as he struck out three and scattered just four hits.

Texarkana is scheduled to be back in action at 6 p.m. on Wednesday when it takes on El Dorado.

 

Texarkana 5, Bryant 5 (tie)

The Texarkana Junior Razorbacks rallied from a five-run deficit against Bryant on Sunday to finish in a tie.

Bryant scored all of its runs in the first two innings and kept the Razorbacks scoreless until the final two innings.

Nate Moore had a team-high two hits and pitched 3 2/3 innings with five strikeouts for Texarkana.
