NEW BOSTON, Texas—The Bowie County Master Gardeners will present a free and public beekeeping program from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday inside the Texas A&M University—Texarkana's Science and Technology Building's Room 306.

The program's speaker will be James Lamb, owner of Southwest Arkansas Beekeeping Supplies in Fulton, Ark.

Lamb works for the University of Arkansas' Southwest Research and Extension Center in Hope, Ark., and he belongs to the Hempstead County Master Gardeners organization. He's the president of the Miller County Red Dirt Master Gardeners.

Lamb, who has been a beekeeper for eight years, will be answering questions about how to be a beekeeper as well as how to get started in the hobby. He will also present some hands-on material to show how the hobby can have benefits.
