Chuck E. Cheese of Texarkana has reopened its dining room and amusement area to customers seeking to sit down for a slice or put on a party.

Like other area restaurants. COVID-19 closed them down except for takeout and similar services. But because they operate according to a different set of rules, they remained closed a bit longer.

"We reopened the dining room in July and had our first birthday party almost immediately," said Asia Williams, assistant manager. "We are trying to get the word out that we are open again. We haven't advertised it yet. Many customers seem to assume we are still closed. But we are getting calls and folks seem to want to know."

There have been a few other changes at Chuck E. Cheese.

"Our customers do have to wear masks except when sitting at their table," she said, "This is per state guidance, of course. Our amusements and games that give out tickets, they don't do it via paper any more. The tickets are now electronic. Our menu is still mostly the same, though some combos are different. And we are still offering carryout for our customers."

Chuck E. Cheese is at Central Mall, 2400 Richmond Road., Ste. 99, in Texarkana, Texas.
