Authorities seek identity of pedestrian killed on I-49

TEXARKANA, Ark. - Authorities are trying to identify a man who died Saturday night after he was hit by a pickup on Interstate 49.

He didn't have any identification on him, officials said.

The man was fatally struck from behind by a northbound Dodge pickup shortly before 7 p.m. while walking northbound on I-49, Arkansas State Police said

On Sunday afternoon, ASP Sgt. Kyle Peek said the investigation into the man's identity, age and where he lived is still ongoing.

Peek said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Miller County Coroner's Office.

The two people inside the pickup weren't injured, Peek said. The road conditions were clear and dry.
