Local resident performs in virtual Shakespeare in the Park

WASHINGTON, Ark. -- This year's Shakespeare in the Park is different but also special. One performer involved in the production is a local resident from Texarkana, Texas, who was introduced to the American Shakespeare Center by the performances at Historic Washington State Park.

Cat M. Thomas, daughter of David and Chris Thomas of Texarkana, Texas, attended almost all of the performances of Shakespeare in the Park since it began in 2011, according to a news release.

She graduated from Texas High School in Texarkana in 2015 and received her bachelor of fine arts in acting from the University of Houston in 2019. She attended the theater camp for students offered by the American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, Virginia, while in high school.

In "Twelfth Night" she performs the role of Curio and an officer. Her biography can be seen at https://americanshakespearecenter.com/people/cat-m-thomas/.

Registration deadline for the show is Friday. Access to the video is free. Call 870-983-2684 to reserve the video and provide a valid email address.
