Texas-side residents face drug charges

Two Texarkana, Texas, residents have been arrested in Miller County on drug charges.

On April 20, Miller County deputies responded to a report of a white Nissan Altima driving recklessly on U.S. Highway 71 South in southern Miller County. About 9:45 a.m., Deputy Byron Bryant located the vehicle pulled off to the side of the highway. Bryant approached and identified the occupants of the vehicle as Dalton Radney, 24, of Texarkana, Texas, and Candice McElhiney, 25, of Texarkana, Texas.

Radney was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana, and a subsequent search of the vehicle revealed two large glass jars with suspected marijuana weighing about four pounds. Also located in the vehicle were suspected clonazepam pills and suspected methamphetamine. Both subjects were arrested on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were booked into the Miller County Detention Center.
