Texas-side council to look at rezoning

The Texarkana, Texas, City Council on Monday will get its first official look at a number of rezoning and permitting matters.

During the council's regular weekly meeting, city staff will brief members on four proposed zoning changes at the following locations:

  •  1705 N. Bishop Road for a retail embroidery shop;
  •  4020 S. Lake Drive for a convenience store;
  •   property in the 3200 block of Main Street for the construction of townhomes; and
  •   1809 Charlestine St. for a manufactured home.

The council will also be briefed on a requested specific-use permit related to the home at 1809 Charlestine.

Another specific-use permit would allow a permanent cosmetics business to operate at 3505 Summerhill Road.

No other action items are on the meeting's agenda. The agenda includes an open forum during which members of the public may address the council on any topic for up to five minutes each.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 220 Texas Blvd.
