Riverbend to hold annual true-up meeting today

NEW BOSTON, Texas - Riverbend Water Resources District will hold the annual true-up meeting today with Texarkana Water Utilities and representatives of the district's original member cities.

TWU representatives will give a presentation on the water production cost and usage for 2019 and projected cost for 2020.

In 2019, members paid $.9006 per 1,000 gallons of water and the projected cost for 2020 is $.9389 per 1,000 gallons, a 4.26% increase.

Riverbend Executive Director/CEO Kyle Dooley said the majority of the increase is due to increased utility and chemical costs.

The original member cities are those who initially paid into construction costs for Wright Patman Lake and the New Boston Road Water Treatment Plant in the 1960s. They include Annona, Avery, DeKalb, Hooks, Maud, New Boston, both Texarkanas and Wake Village.

The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. at the Riverbend Offices, 228A Texas Ave., New Boston, Texas.
