The Panda's Chinese Restaurant property is now for sale after complications with city inspectors and a tragedy in the family of the property owner.

Panda's Chinese Restaurant on New Boston Road has been around for many years, but the building is for sale.

A new operator recently oversaw an interior and exterior refurbishing, with the kitchen almost completely new. But after operating for a few months, trouble arose. The operator failed to meet with city inspectors twice, according to Scott Robertson, broker with Texarkana Legacy Group.

"At that point, the city was forced to order the place to cease operations, according to regulations," Robertson said.

"Further, I was informed by city inspectors that the owner was dealing with a death in the family and decided she didn't want to deal with the situation anymore. So she decided to sell the property and that's where Legacy Group came into this."

Right now, the property has to remain closed until the inspection matters can be address, but city inspectors told Robertson there is nothing seriously wrong with the premises.

"You have a recently refurbished, from top to bottom, fully equipped restaurant waiting on a new owner and the city inspectors just needing the details addressed," he said.

According to Robertson, the property is valued at $350,000.
