A Texarkana, Texas, woman has been charged with vehicular homicide by the Louisiana State Police in connection with a fatal accident in Claiborne Parish.
Joncee Whited, 32, of Texarkana, Texas, has been charged with two counts of vehicular homicide, DWI with child endangerment, possession of schedule IV and driving left of center, according to information from Louisiana State Police Troop G.
Whited was arrested in Texarkana on Nov. 14 after police obtained a warrant for the charges. On Nov. 21, Whited was booked by the Claiborne Parish Sheriff's Office in Homer, Louisiana. She was later taken to the Webster Parish jail.
The crash occurred July 14 when Whited's vehicle allegedly crossed the center line and collided head-on with a car driven by Charles Pitts, 33, of Haynesville, Louisiana, according to the report. Pitts and his passenger Quentin Willis, 37, were pronounced dead at the scene.
An infant passenger in Whited's vehicle was not injured but taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
