TEXARKANA, Texas - If you go to TCBY in Texarkana, there is a bit more now at that location than there was previously. Now, a professional chef prepares Mediterranean and Greek dishes for hungry fans of the region's cuisine at Fawah Mediterranean Grill.

"We got this started this past Sunday," said Benny Ghazzawi, owner. "We feature fresh food, made from scratch with the good tastes that come with it."

The menu features such staples as gyros, shawarma, falafel, kebabs, hummus, grape leaves, baba ghanoush and more.

"We also have vegetarian/vegan options," Ghazzawi said. "And a gluten free option. Whatever your tastes, we have something for you. All at great prices." Ghazzawi had been running TCBY for a few years when it came to him they could offer something additional at the same location, 2511 Richmond Road.

"Those who come here to buy a beverage may not buy a yogurt, but they might want some kind of Mediterranean dinner. No one else in Texarkana is making Mediterranean fare. Some of our customers told us they had been going as far away as Shreveport or Rockwall, Texas, to get it. Now, they don't have to."

Texarkana fans are appreciative.

"We've had excellent response so far," Ghazzawi said. "And we are still adding to our menu. We will be adding items over time, especially as customers make requests. We will also have a catering service for local businesses and parties and the like."
