Stone Studio slated for grand opening on Thursday

New Downtown business to offer marble, granite and quartz for residential, commercial customers

The Stone Studio will host a grand opening 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at 700 E. Broad St. in Texarkana, Ark., according to a press release.

Stone Studio offers marble, granite and quartz to both residential and commercial customers in a historic downtown building that has been remodeled into a state-of-the-art fabrication and showroom space.

It occupies the building that locals know as the former Bolls Distributing.

After an extensive remodel, the building now houses a collection of stone in a gallery-like environment.

Stone Studio is a new business venture for Contemporary Concepts, which has operated in downtown Texarkana since 2009.

After sourcing stone frequently for clients of his architectural mill, Contemporary Concepts owner Dustin Hughes saw a niche that he could fill, both as a complement to his own business and to meet demand in the Texarkana market.

"Once we got comfortable handling and installing marble and granite, I decided to figure out how to import the stone directly ourselves," Hughes stated in a press release. "We want to pass on the best value to the Texarkana community and to all of our customers."

The stone collection includes unique and exotic pieces that came directly from quarries in Brazil, with products that fit into any budget.

Hughes and the team at Stone Studio invite the community to come and tour the facility and enjoy refreshments on Thursday.

The Texarkana Chamber of Commerce will also be holding a ribbon-cutting at 11:30 a.m.

"We would love for anyone who has an interest in downtown, in new businesses in our area, or in marble or granite for a project to come and say hello," said Mary Adams, vice president of operations, in a press release. "We are excited for the community to take a look around and see what we're all about."
