Update: As of 11 a.m. Thursday, more than 500 AEP-SWEPCO customers remained without power. Close to 700 Bowie-Cass customers were still without power in Bowie County along with about 500 in Cass County.

Trees and power lines were down Wednesday night across much of Texarkana and Bowie and Miller counties after a thunderstorm blew through the area.

The storm hit about shortly after 6 p.m. and brought down numerous trees in the area, according to law enforcement. At least one tree fell on a house but no injuries were reported.

"We've just got trees down everywhere," said a dispatcher with the Miller County Sheriff's Office.

Thousands of AEP-Swepco customers were without power late Wednesday, according to the company's website.

Bowie-Cass Electric reported 778 customers were without power in Bowie County and 938 customers in Cass County.

Southwest Arkansas Rural Electric (REA) reported 4,144 Miller County customers were without power and 153 Little River County customers were without power.

There were no estimated times for power to be restored as of late Wednesday.

Storms were moving southeast shortly after 7 p.m.
