A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a GMC Denali pickup truck about 6:40 a.m. Thursday on Interstate 30, according to Lonny Haschel, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The incident occurred about 6:40 p.m. on Interstate 30 west of Spur 86 near the 204 mile marker.
The pickup was traveling east on I-30.
"For an as yet undetermined reason, a male pedestrian walked into the left lane of the interstate and was struck by the GMC. The male pedestrian died at the scene. The driver of the GMC was not injured. The names are being withheld for the time being pending confirmation on next of kin notification," said Haschel.
The roadway was closed until about 9:30 a.m.
The crash is under investigation and no additional information is currently available.
