Bowie, Miller counties log 18 new COVID-19 cases

From Monday to Tuesday, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases increased by 13 in Bowie County, Texas, and by five in Miller County, Arkansas.

Bowie County's case count rose from 630 to 643, with 306 active cases, 286 recoveries and 38 deaths, according to the local emergency Joint Operations Center.

Miller County's moved from 470 to 475, with 56 active cases, 415 recoveries and four deaths, according to the Arkansas Department of Health.

Elsewhere in Northeast Texas, Cass County's tally held at 153, with 71 active cases, 76 recoveries and six deaths, according to the JOC.

Titus County's count ticked up by one, from 1,170 to 1,171, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services. Morris County held at 97 cases and Red River County at 134.

In Southwest Arkansas, Lafayette County's count increased from 49 to 50, Pike County's from 81 to 84, Nevada County's from 133 to 134, Little River County's from 156 to 158, Hempstead County's from 220 to 224, Howard County's from 300 to 303 and Sevier County's from 939 to 944, according to ADH.

Caddo Parish in Northwest Louisiana added 25 cases for a total of 6,224, and Bossier Parish added 74 cases to reach 2,192, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Statewide, Arkansas reported 45,381 cases with 490 deaths. Louisiana reported 124,461 cases with 3,937 deaths, and Texas reported 451,181 cases with 7,261 deaths.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had not updated its COVID-19 statistics by presstime Tuesday.
