Seventh COVID-19 death reported in Cass County

The number of people who have died from COVID-19 in Cass County, Texas, increased by one Wednesday, reaching a total of seven.

The county's confirmed coronavirus case count rose from 153 to 158 Tuesday to Wednesday, with 84 recoveries and 67 active cases, according to the local emergency Joint Operations Center.

Bowie County, Texas' count increased from 643 to 659, with 288 recoveries, 38 deaths and 333 active cases, according to the JOC.

Elsewhere in Northeast Texas, Morris County's tally rose from 97 to 98, Red River County's from 134 to 135 and Titus County's from 1,171 to 1,178, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.

In Southwest Arkansas, Miller County added 14 cases to reach 489, with 426 recoveries, five deaths and 58 active cases, according to the Arkansas Department of Health.

Lafayette County's tally went up from 50 to 52, Pike County's from 84 to 88, Little River County's from 158 to 160, Hempstead County's from 224 to 227, Howard County's from 303 to 308 and Sevier County's from 944 to 958. Nevada County held at 134 cases.

Caddo Parish in Northwest Louisiana added 192 cases for a total of 6,516, and Bossier Parish added 83 cases to reach 2,275, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Statewide, Arkansas reported 46,293 cases with 508 deaths. Louisiana reported 125,943 cases with 3,978 deaths, and Texas reported 459,887 cases with 7,497 deaths.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 4,748,806 total cases so far in the U.S., with a national death toll of 156,311.
