TEXARKANA, Texas - It's been almost almost 13 years since 25-year-old Latoya Grissom left her grandmother's apartment.

She was supposed to return soon because her grandmother was watching her children, but she has not been seen since.

Grissom left her grandmother's apartment on Allen Lane about 3:30 p.m. on Sept.5, 2007.

She was seen getting into a small, dark-colored car.

After she had been gone for several days without calling home, her family reported her missing. Local police entered her name into their missing persons databases.

Texarkana, Texas, police believe Grissom met with foul play, but her body has never been found.

"After all these years, our detectives still continue to work to solve this case to help provide some closure for her family," said Shawn Vaughn, spokesman for TTPD.

In 2010, Grissom's purse and some other personal items were found along a creek in Texarkana.

Vaughn said over the last few months, detectives have conducted several interviews, executed a search warrant, and are waiting on new evidence.

Police are hopeful they might have some answers soon and are asking for the public's assistance.

Anyone who knows something about what happened to Grissom is asked to call 903-798-3116.

"We believe we are very close to solving this, and you might have that little piece of information that helps us do that," Vaughn said.
