Second man, 18, arrested in Sunday slaying

TEXARKANA, Texas -A second man has been arrested in connection with a Sunday night homicide in Bowie County.

Brandon Lasaun Parkman, 18, was arrested early Wednesday in Atlanta, Texas, on a charge of capital murder, said Bowie County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Jeff Neal.

Parkman and Kristopher Allen Fate Wilson, also known as "Flip," are both charged in the slaying of Chase Porier. Wilson was arrested Tuesday in Cass County.

Also on Tuesday, investigators with the Bowie County Sheriff's Office travelled to Cass County in efforts of serving a warrant on Parkman. With the assistance of the Cass County Sheriff's Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and Texas Parks and Wildlife, numerous locations were checked.

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, Parkman surrendered himself to the Atlanta Police Department. He was booked into the Cass County Jail and has since been brought back to the Bi-State Justice Building jail in Texarkana. "We are thankful for everyone who assisted in this investigation and are pleased that both individuals responsible for the death of Chase Porier are now in custody," Neal said.

Deputies responded at 7:52 p.m. Sunday to a house in the 100 block of Forest Circle after receiving a call about a gunshot victim.

A witness told investigators that two male suspects had shown up at Porier's house and a fight took place. The suspects allegedly robbed Porier of his marijuana and cell phone then shot him.

Forest Circle is southwest of Texarkana, west of U.S. Highway 59 and east of Farm to Market Road 2148 South, toward the northeast shores of Wright Patman Lake.
