Man pleads guilty in case of child porn possession

TEXARKANA, Texas - A man who possessed more than 600 images depicting the sexual exploitation of children pleaded guilty Thursday to possession of child pornography in a Texarkana federal court.

Danny Lee Collins Jr., 32, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, appeared Thursday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Caroline Craven with McKinney, Texas, lawyer Marc Fratter in Texarkana's downtown federal building. Collins entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of child pornography.

According to a factual basis filed Thursday in the Texarkana Division of the Eastern District of Texas in Collins' case, Collins possessed the images on computer equipment seized from him in September 2018.

"I also knew that I possessed more than six hundred images and videos of child pornography, including files depicting prepubescent minors and sadistic or masochistic abuse or other depictions of violence," the factual basis states.

Among the images specifically described in Collins' factual basis is a gagged, half-nude, prepubescent girl being sexually assaulted by an adult man.

Possession of child pornography is punishable by up to 10 years in federal prison. However, if an image depicts a prepubescent child or a child who has not reached the age of 12 years, the offense is punishable by up to 20 years.

Collins is currently in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
