Police: Pedestrian victim on I-49 still unidentified

TEXARKANA, Ark. - Arkansas State Police continue to seek the identity of a man killed Saturday on Interstate 49.

The pedestrian was killed at 6:45 p.m Saturday near the 39-mile marker of I-49 when he was struck by a 2000 Dodge pickup, according to an ASP preliminary fatality report.

The man, who had been walking northbound, did not have any identification on him, officials said. The vehicle was also traveling north and was unable to avoid the collision and collided with the pedestrian in the right lane, according to the report.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Miller County Coroner's Office.

The two people inside the pickup were not injured, according to the report.
