Two men arrested on numerous illegal hunting charges

Two Bowie County men are facing more than 50 felony charges after allegedly deer hunting early Christmas morning with night vision scopes and without the landowner's consent.

Brandon Michael Brooks, 23, and Kirk Dewayne Brooks, 52, are both facing multiple felonies in connection to the alleged illegal hunting, according to Bowie County Sheriff's Office records.

 

On Friday, the game wardens finished their investigation and served a total of 53 warrants on the two men, according to Bowie County records. The charges are taking white-tailed deer at night and also hunting without the landowner's permission.

The incident allegedly happened about 1 a.m. on Dec.25 at a farm in the northern part of Bowie County.

The suspects were allegedly taking white-tail deer with an infrared light and night vision scopes. The suspects were taken to the Bowie County jail on charges of hunting white-tail deer at night.

Further investigation by game wardens revealed the suspects allegedly harvested 10 deer at night and without the landowner's consent.
