THS students qualify for leadership conference

TEXARKANA - Nine Texas High School students in Business Professionals of America received state-qualifying nods at a recent leadership conference in Rockwall, Texas.

State qualifiers are:

Tarren Engle - first place, database applications;

Kenichi Pass - first place, computer modeling;

Emilee Herrington second place, computer modeling;

Parker Johnson - second place, fundamental accounting);

Chloe Sawyer - second place, ICD-10-CM diagnostic coding;

Amethyst Spade - third place, visual basic/C# programming;

Hayli Hamilton - fourth place, fundamental accounting;

Oren Smith - fourth place, medical office procedures; and

Lillian Davis - fifth place, integrated office applications.

Double state qualifiers included Lillian Davis, Tarren Engle, Chloe Sawyer and Oren Smith, who earned second place as members of the Administrative Support Team.

All the students qualified for the State Leadership Conference that will be held March 4-7 in Dallas.

The mission of Business Professionals of America is to contribute to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, and academic and technological skills.
