Coronavirus numbers rise in Texarkana region, including more than 30 in Bowie County

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases increased in seven of eight Southwest Arkansas counties from Tuesday to Wednesday, according to the Arkansas Department of Health.

Miller County's case count grew from 363 to 368, with 285 patients recovered and two deaths. There are 81 active cases being traced in the county.

While Nevada County's count held at 117, Lafayette County's rose from 38 to 41, Pike County's from 39 to 43, Little River County's from 67 to 72, Hempstead County's from 134 to 145, Howard County's from 196 to 209 and Sevier County's from 869 to 880.

Bowie County, Texas' number of confirmed coronavirus cases grew by more than 30 from Tuesday to Wednesday, moving from 511 to 543, with 226 recoveries and 31 deaths, according to the local emergency Joint Operations Center. There are 286 active cases being traced in the county.

Cass County, Texas, has counted 94 cumulative cases with 50 recovered, two deaths and 42 active cases, according to the JOC.

Elsewhere in Northeast Texas, Morris County's tally rose from 65 to 68 and Titus County's from 995 to 1,025, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services. TDSHS adjusted Red River County's count downward from 130 to 129.

Caddo Parish in Northwest Louisiana added 161 cases from Tuesday to Wednesday, for a total of 5254, and Bossier Parish added 46 cases to reach 1,701, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Statewide, Arkansas reported 35,246 cases with 380 deaths. Louisiana reported 99,354 cases with 3,558 deaths, and Texas reported 351,618 cases with 4,348 deaths.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 3,882,167 total cases so far in the U.S., with a national death toll of 141,677.
