A Texarkana, Texas, woman remains in the Bi-State jail after she allegedly pushed a 7-year-old boy to the ground and struck him several times in the head.

Krystal Riley, 32, is charged with injury to a child. Riley's bail was set at $50,000 but she also had several other outstanding warrants, which increased her bail to $60,000, said Shawn Vaughn, spokesman for the TTPD.

The incident happened June 22 at the Sunset Apartment playground on Allen Lane. Riley was arrested July 5 after Texarkana, Texas, police detectives obtained a warrant for her.

Riley allegedly pushed the child to the ground and struck him several times in the head while he was on the ground, a witness told police. A witness pulled Riley off of the victim. He suffered lacerations on the head as a result of the attack.

Riley had a friendship with the child's mother at one time and was upset with the victim and his mother after an incident on the playground the previous day, according to police.

TTPD Detective Tabitha Smith obtained an arrest warrant for Riley. She was arrested July 5 at the scene of another disturbance at the apartment complex. She was located hiding in a closet inside an apartment, Vaughn said.
