For the first time in many years, Miller County's early voting will not be held in the courthouse this fall to meet social distancing requirements and safety concerns, an election official said.

The Cabe Fellowship Center at First Methodist Church will host the 13 days of early voting to be held between Oct. 19 through Nov. 2. There will be no Election Day voting at Cabe Center on Nov. 3, said Linda Crawford. Miller County election coordinator. The center is located at 400 E. Sixth St. in downtown Texarkana.

The Cabe Center will allow a larger space for voting equipment to be spread out and accommodate social distancing, she said.

"The state is helping us with all the sanitation requirements so all hard surfaces and equipment will be continually sanitized," she said.

"Each voter will sign and use a touch screen with their own stylus that can be disposed of."

Early voting dates and times at the Cabe Center will be:

Monday, Oct. 19 — Friday, Oct. 23 and Monday, Oct. 26 to Friday, Oct. 30 — 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 24 and Saturday, Oct. 31 —10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Monday, Nov. 2 — 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Early voting days and hours are set by the State of Arkansas
