Where most recently a pet store operated, a new convenience store has opened its doors at 2502 New Boston Road. Local customers have been quick to find it.
On Tuesday, a customer at the front of the line waits for his order as a man behind the rather large deli counter cuts meat. He makes a slice, then pivots to show the customer. The customer smiles and nods his approval. The meat cutter continues.
"We've been open for five days now," said Adam Raphael, manager. "The early customer reaction has been fantastic. We appreciate everyone showing up."
He continues cutting meat as more customers come into the store.
"We sell lots of fresh sandwiches and salads," said Mustara Saif, owner. "It is really good. Folks are coming."
Customer Lee Davis of Texarkana, Texas, said the staff is polite, the store is clean, but what she finds especially appealing are "the salads and the huge deli counter."
